Algozey. Algozey are a pair of woodwind instruments that consist of two flutes, one producing the melody and the other for drone. The longer flute is the male and the shorter one the female instrument. They are always used as a couple and are either tied together or maybe held together loosely with the hands whilst playing them and are usually decorated with colorful tassels (colors will vary as they are hand made items) The Alghozay is played by blowing into the two flutes simultaneously creating rhythm by capturing each breath. The Algozay are used by Punjabi folk musician’s singer and used in various other regions of India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan too, where they are known as Alghoza, Nagoze, Jorhi, Algozey.
