Dhad Drum. The Dhad also known as Dhadd is made of wood with a thin waist. The skin on both sides is tightened with ropes that help in holding the instrument firmly together. The pitch of the drum can be controlled by squeezing the band/cloth which is wrapped round the waist of the drum. The design is very similar to other Indian drums such as the Damru, the Udukai and Idakka. The Dhad is a traditional instrument native to Punjab, India.
